The photo represents the overall condition of these Sig Sauer P226 police trades, all of which are in good condition.
Price is for one Sig Sauer P226 police trade-in pistol, which comes with two 12-round magazines. As with many used and police trade-in firearms, these may contain scratches and/or holster wear. This is not always the case, but should not be unexpected.
Please note that used firearms may contain surface rust, scratches and/or holster wear.
Came with the OG case and two OG mags. The frame is in good shape, with a very good slide and barrel. I took it apart beyond a field strip for a deep clean and lube, which greatly improved its function and appearance. The action is now smooth as butter. I ordered some upgrades from Sig Factory online: replaced the E2 stock grips (marred by duty holster scars on the right side) with Hogue G-Mascus Piranha grips in green, bought a new .357 Sig barrel, and got a spring parts kit (not needed yet but for later). Also picked up a +2 Sig mag for 15-round capacity.
It arrived promptly at my local gun shop. They, as well as l, couldn’t believe in the excellent condition it was in. Obviously the officer who carried this weapon took extra-special care of it. There was ONLY just a small amount of gun powder residue at the very bottom of the lower trigger mechanism. This was easily cleaned with gunsmith’s pick and q-tip. Both magazines were also well maintained. The ONLY drawback was a lack of a proper gun case… it arrived in a cardboard box and wrapped in newsprint paper. I’m a very happy camper… thank you.
I was a Fort Worth Officer for 28 years and carried this type of firearm for the last 10 years. When a officer retired or is terminated most departments don’t reissue that officers weapon, instead they use it as a trade in in a new weapon for the next officer hired on. As a result these weapons are usually in very good shape and now become available as “Trade ins”. I purchased one of the SigSauer P226r Which was listed as “Good” for the value rating and was very pleased when I received it. It was in a case with all paperwork, manuals, the original safety lock, and in my opinion should have been valued as very good or like new in description. Super happy with this gun and would refer a friend to purchase in a heart beat. I also purchased 6 additional trade in magazines which were also very good condition. Thanks so much.
Pistol performed well out of the box. Night sights glow bright. Mags were in great shape. Had E2 grips, well worn, one side worse than the other. There was a large area on side of pistol where a large area of anodizng had been scraped off. Almost the entire length of the grip, 1/4 wide. many small dings. Finish worn multiple places, very sorry inside. Guessing it was rubbing against the seatbelt latch or something else on his belt. The surface damage was worse than anything showing good standards. Even worse than poor. I will refinish. Not sure I will buy another used here unless I have pictures of the exact item.
Firearm arrived a little faster than expected. The condition was good. I can tell the previous owner put a decent amount of rounds through it. Arrived with the black and gray sig box. Mine has the E2 grips with very few dings and wear marks. Still have yet to shoot it. I plan on adding a few mods such as a tac light/laser, night sights, and extended mags. Very happy with this purchase and will continue to shop from this company.
Was very pleased with my purchase. It was in very good condition.
Pistol was in mint condition. It was very filthy and stiff, but after cleaning it and lubing it, it's smooth as butter. Shoots great too. I've only shot 100rds through it. So far so good. I'm loving it.
The gun was shipped fast, it could have been better packed, it came in a FedEx box wrapped with paper. The condition was exceptional, very clean, nice shiny barrel with very little wear if any. The grip is almost in as-new condition. The slide of the one I have received doesn't say stainless, and the sights are standard non-tritium. Two Sig magazines were included and both are very clean and in good shape. I'm very happy with the purchase.
It's an accurate gun..though heavy considering I've been using Glock 40s all time. Received with an original SIG pistol case and 12+2 mags. It's dirty in and out from the box, I gave a good cleaning because it looks like it has never been taken care off. Anyhow, it's great and fun to shoot!
I would definitely recommend getting a good P226. I initially got a fair and wasn't satisfied, so I decided to try again and get a good, and it was definitely good! The good example I received was an E2 model that sticks to the cliche of carried a lot and shot a little!
I am seriously debating pressing buy on a 229 now as soon as I decide rail or not. This time my FFL said man you got a GOOD one when I walked in the door vs my last experience with a fair model 226.
I only rated performance a 3 to be neutral because I have not shot it, but all I can say is that the gun is in good shape. It's not mint or near mint, but I cant say enough that it is good.
If I had to nit pick the only negative is the night sights are dim, but that is expected.
I even noticed I got better mags with the good model. The good model came with MECGAR mags instead of the USA made sig mags with the coating on them. Thanks Sportman's Outdoors SS for the great service.
Note: I was not paid nor did I receive anything for this review.
Very good pistol, being retired LE and now FFL dealer, I can tell you most trade in are shot little and carried much. The pistol is in excellent mechanical condition. You will not be hurt buying these pistols. Has night sites but are dim. New sights, recoil spring and some aluminum black, and will serve as my shop pistol for a long time to come. Just be advised they don't come with a box but well worth the money! Will do future business with this company! Thanks!
