As usual, shipping is very fast. Even with all the problems we are currently having, the gun got to the FFL in less than a week. The gun: It is a dream to shoot, recoil is very manageable, its accurate and reliable. I did have one failure to feed, but im pretty sure it was the ammo i was using. For comparison i was running the same ammo on a glock and i had the same issue. The RDS: Here is where the problem is, for me. The first problem i had was that the 2 screws that cover the cuts were not the same size, i mean they are, but i had tug the allen key with a small hammer in order for it to sit all the way down and unscrew it. Then the Red Dot is plastic, looks like polymer and after what it looked like stripping the adjustment screws the it started moving the dot. Overall i love the gun, the RDS, well, its free, its does just fine for range shooting, but i wouldnt run it in a scenario where you may bang it up. As soon as i can, im buying something more sturdy.
Great pistol, Great price. I purchased the FDE compact with CST optic, pistol shoots great, Optic couldn’t stand up to Wisconsin winter. Made 3 range trips, worked well, shot a local IDPA match, Crimson trace optic quit working half way through, cold windy day. Brought it home changed out the battery, still not working. I’ll contact Crimson Trace and see what they can do. Thanks
I really like Smith and Wesson firearms and this one was a deal. That being said I don't understand the triggers they send out the door on their M&P pistols. This one was no exception. The trigger was so gritty it was like someone scratching on a blackboard. That and I'm no fan of the hinged trigger safety but it is what it is. Other than that, it is what I've come to expect from Smith & Wesson. A fine firearm. I want to use this for a CCW so no aftermarket mods to the fire control group is a good idea but it sure is tempting. Admittedly the gun was very dry but I've spent a few hours taking it apart and I enjoy taking it apart, polishing, cleaning, lightly filing, and oiling to the point it is livable. Much, much better but just a little more quality control in the trigger department and final assembly may be in order. Most of the the issue was with the trigger bar where it engages the striker safety and the sear. Sharp rough edges that took quite a bit of attention and polishing. Looking forward to some quality time breaking it in.
This is a fantastic pistol with CT red dot, under $400 with the rebate. I’ve put 200 rounds through it without issue. The red dot doesn’t come mounted but it has a bag of plates. Just grab the appropriate plate and mount it with the screws that are provided. You will need to remove this red dot to change battery. It comes with just two mags, but for this price, I can’t complain about that.
I was skeptical on this order from other negative reviews. However, SOS was much better than I expected. Not only did they have the gun in stock for a good price, they shipped it out fairly quick IMO for the current times in the firearms market. It was delayed slightly when they requested my identification to prove that I was who I said I was and it wasnt fraud. I appreciated them protecting the consumer. And though they have a disclaimer for shipping delays, as soon as they verified my identification it was shipped the next day and it arrived a couple of days later. Will order from SOS in the future. Thanks!
