This is a good start for an entry-level budget pistol. The tolerances are very tight; I trust they will loosen up once it’s fully broken in… maybe. However, the mag release is sticky. Out of 420 rounds, I experienced two FF, one SP, and multiple slide lock failures.
The gun fits my grip. It seems to operate very well. The balance and heft seems to minimize kick back. Tear down for cleaning is super easy. Fun to shoot.
I bought this instead of the Springfield XD9 because it was way less money! It shoots and feels great in hand too. I had an issue with a stripped screw in my rear sight and Buffalo Cartridge said to send the slide with the barrel to then and they would fix it! Not only did they remove the stripped screw but replaced them both and sent a video to me where they test fired it after adjusting the sights and and per my request didn’t tighten them so I could adjust them to my liking! Which I didn’t have to! WHO DOES THAT! Buffalo Cartridge that’s who!
very nice for the value
Fired many rounds thru with out a single issue
This pistol should spell the end of the XD-9. It is similar in most respects, but subtly different in many ways that are better. Obviously, the price is why the BRG attracts so much attention. However, it's NOT a cheap gun. You'll find that it's a value purchase, because its of superior design and higher quality. Here are a few specific qualities worth noting: 1 It has 6 rear slide serrations vs 5 on the XD, along with 6 front serrations vs only 3 on the XD. 2 The less expensive and more plentiful XD mags will work in the BRG but strangely the BRG mags will not work well in the XD`;` they stick & wont drop freely. 3 Although the BRG comes in a couple of ounces heavier than an XD, its likely because the rear of the slide is much beefier and the steel is of a higher grade harder. 4 Both are equipped with chamber indicators, cocking indicators and grip safeties. 5 The sights on the BRG are superior to me because its a rear ramped sight less snags and the 3 dots have a contrasting orange front sight against the white rear. 6 The extractor on the BRG is more Glockish and external, which I prefer. 7 The rail on the BRG is a standard picatinny spacing`;` the XD is spaced too far apart for accessories to grab both teeth. 8 The BRG take-down lever twists down and out of the way for stripping down`;` the XD twists upward and gets in the way. Additionally, the serrations on the BRG take-down extends the full length and the XD on covers about 2/3s. Finally, the BRG take-down lever is recessed into the frame`;` the XD is exposed and adds to the overall width, for more potential snags. 9 The BRG slide release is larger, more recessed and functions far superior to the XD. 10 The beaver-tail on the BRG extends further than the XD and is superior. 11 The mag release on the BRG is more easily accessible. 12 The BRG has a trigger with slightly less take-up and that probably gives it the perception of having a crisper break, with a shorter reset. 13 The under-cut on the trigger guard is deeper on the BRG. 14 The BRG has interchangable backstraps`;` the XD is not adjustable. 15 Internally, the locking block and guide-rod on the BRG is slightly more robust possibly contributing to the extra weight. 16 The Front & rear guide rails on the BRG are made of the same higher grade steel`;` the rear guide rail on the XD is polymer. The manufacturer insists on using factory loaded ammo and upon my field testing`;` I concur. When I ran reloaded ammo with hard primers the striker was dimpling a few of the primers, but not strong enough to fire. So, don't count on it for running everything or anything you feed it. It'll need new factory loaded rounds...I haven't tried reloaded rounds with softer primers, yet...which is why my scores are 4s all the way across the board nearly could give it 5s.
Awesome gun! Feels good with the small back strap! 115 grain or 124 grain, it feeds it all. The XD9 16 round mags fit and function just like originals and if you look in the right place you can get them cheap! Stainless steel too! Wanted an XD9 but opted for the BRG9 instead! Glad I did! Means more ammo for those extra mags!
So, I watched review videos before purchasing. And I figure at the low retail price, it was low risk. Put 100 rounds through it and it was right on. I shot one-handed, with both hands, and the accuracy is right there. No jams or F-to-F but I used whitebox brass ammo. It's a quality pistol for the price! This is my first review and I am by no means an expert.
Only reason I purchased was because of price. Had some XD 16 round mags which it accepted with no issues. Handles both target and defensive ammo, multiple grains and brands, with no FTF or FTE. Flawless, accurate, reliable, nice trigger, no issues. I always research before buying and there are plenty reviews to read or just watch YouTube.
Before even firing the gun for the first time, there were problems. The gun would not chamber a round. I cleaned and oiled the gun again and it would start to cycle every other round. I reached out to BRG three times but got no response. Another member suggested I debur the feed ramp and polish again. After I did this, the gun began to chamber and cycle the 9mm rounds properly. Member also reminded me that the gun is cheap for a reason. The company can not be counted on to resolve gun issues. For this very reason, and to avoid problems, I would stay away from this gun and invest a little more money into a better option.
I've only fired 50 rounds at the range so far but it was accurate and felt great shooting. Easily disassembled, very pleased so bought a second. Best value. I think nothing bad about it. $200, can’t beat it.
I bought two and I am extremely happy with everything about them. They shoot well, five boxes of ammo through them with no problems. The internal machine work is clean and the outer finish is excellent. I showed them to my relatives and there have now been six bought in the family, so far.
Very nice gun for the money! I can't see how you can find a better deal. Shoots just as good, if not better than, my Springfield XD. And it's definitely more cost-effective.
This is a fantastic firearm. Now, I don't claim to be a firearm expert but I do have a combined 37 years in law enforcement. I have carried several different guns over the years. When the BRG arrived, I took it out of the box and ran 50 rounds through it without any problems. This gun shoots reliably and accurately and it's well worth the money.
Bought a BRG-9 in December of 2022. Took it to the range and shot a couple 100 rounds with it. Gun performed perfectly and very accurately. Liked it so well, I ordered 2 more. At $189 and free shipping this is absolutely the best deal out there on a fantastic, reliable firearm. Very impressed and I also own Glock, SIG, Ruger, Springfield, and FN so, yeah, I am able to compare. The BRG-9 Elite can run with any of them. Can't go wrong with this gun.
A Bianchi size 13 holster is a perfect fit for this pistol.
Just got it today at my gun shop and it's a beauty, and well made! Top notch craftsmanship and as good as a SIG, Walther, or Glock (I've had all of those before)! It's on par with a Canik and I have 3 of those! I have SARS and a Girsan MC9 with an optic sight and I'm a fan of the Turk's guns! I have their shotguns also! It hasn't got an optic cut slide but the sights are really good. I don't care because I have 3 pistols already with optics. It's gonna be a damn good truck gun for me! I paid $189 with free shipping and $205 with tax and it's worth at least twice that! Buy it You won't be sorry!
For the cost, it is actually an amazing firearm and with all the extras even better.
Who can turn down a pistol at this price? First thoughts, wow it's oiled already. Wow it's light. I fired 32 FMJ without problem. Very flat shooting. I fired 16 Norma 108 grain MHP, flat shooting. It's solid. I'm very happy. Bought it on the 19th, received it on the 26th. Fast shipping. Good price. What else do you need? Better get it while its in stock.
Don’t let the fact this gun is made in Turkey deter you from getting it. Lots of good guns are made over in Turkey now, like the Stoeger shotgun. This handgun is an XD 9 clone. It will even take the XD mags. For $189 you basically get an XD, except this may even be better. The recoil (or lack there of) is amazing. It’s the smoothest handgun I’ve ever shot. And it’s is very accurate!!! If you pass it up, it’s your loss!!!
I received my BRG9 Elite a few days ago. It's the black version. The slide has a rough look to it. After a field strip, the recoil spring looks rough as well. But it doesn't seem to bother the quality or functionality of the firearm. Overall, the mag release, slide lock, and feel of it are pretty top notch. I have not fired it yet but will real soon. The shipping wasn't too bad either. I'd say it took about a week to arrive at my FFL dealer. No problems with shipping.
I don't think there's a better value anywhere. For me it's exceeded expectations. It's well-built and the fit and finish is very good. I've put about 150 rounds through it so far with no issues of any kind.
I bought the BRG9 because I have had good luck with Turkish-made handguns. First, the price. Second, the quality and performance. The BRG9 is by far, one of my best! The fit and finish are excellent. Not Glock, but right on their heels. The BRG9 also uses the same magazines as the readily available Springfield XD-9 my Turkish-made Stoeger uses a proprietary mag. The BRG9 comes with 2 mags, a mag loader, a cleaning kit, and a really nice hard plastic case. All for $200! This pistol is a real bargain in a time when everything is outrageously over-priced. Get one. You will not be disappointed.
Purchased this gun in December finally got it 15 days later. Great pistol accurate and functions well very happy. For the money, it is one damn good gun.
Very nice pistol. Great price and quality. Really enjoy the trigger pull. Just need to get more in so I can get a 2nd one.
First, this was another terrific purchasing experience with Sportsman's Outdoors! Bargain priced, smooth transaction, fast shipping...absolutely! Quality product...well, the jury is still out;` and that'll be up to the manufacturer. I'm not too worried though`;` with the lifetime guarantee standing behind it. At the price it was offered, I couldn't resist and actually bought two 2. I went to test-fire them and the first one blew me away. Out of the box, it's way better than my Glock 19 and is constructed and designed better than a Springfield XD9. It has a better: trigger, weight distribution, ergonomics, sights, mag release, slide release, metallic composition, slide serrations, and safety features. It is slightly heavier, but the felt recoil is like firing a 22. This might have been the best 9 I've ever shot. HOWEVER`;` the second one failed to fire each of the first three 3 rounds`;` and all had a light strike on the primer. After it fired the fourth round, it started coming to life`;` firing about 60% of the time, while making a dimple on the primer 100% of the time. Could be a firing pin or maybe the spring, or something else...don't know. Hence the rating of 3...one was fantastic`;` the other not so much...at least not yet...so stay tuned.
This is a very nice firearm for the price.
The gun is solid and functions as it suppose to. It shoots more accurately than most of the striker guns. In coupling with the price, the rating should be at least 4 out of 5 if not 5. The guns looks better than shown in the picture. Only two observations which may not be an issue to some of the users: 1. The height seems to be too much given the fact that this is just a 4 barrel and hold 16 rounds in the magazine not 17 or above. I measured at least 5.75, it cant fit into my center box in the car 5.5 would OK. 2. The recoil rod appears to be sticking out of the opening below the barrel muzzle, not sure why it does that even after dissemble/reassemble several times, but this would not effect the performances.
I have shot many other pistols but this is the first one I have owned. It never jammed after shooting a few boxes of shells. I shot 115 grain FMJ and JHP without any problems. It feels great in my hands and feels great.
What a nice firearm. Have put 200 rounds through the firearm and not one hiccup. Out of the case it was as accurate as I could shoot. Nice weight, 5lb trigger, adjustable back straps, 2 16 round magazines, case, cleaning kit all for less than $200.00 on sale! Thank you Sportsman’s Outdoor for carrying this firearm at such a great price. Ordered on a Friday evening, my ffl dealer called the following Thursday letting me know they had my new firearm. While at my ffl gun shop picking up this firearm, two people wanted to see my new purchase and after inspecting the BRG9, ordered one for themselves while in the store before leaving the store. It sold itself. This is a highly recommended firearm to own.
Extremely nice pistol at a good price. Highly recommended
I normally practice at 7-10 yrds at the range and this was very much on the mark. After that I was more accurate with my Glock 19 but at almost triple the price. Zero issues. Mags load well and it just works with very limited recoil. Best purchase for the money out of all of my pistols.
Had extraction issue which I fixed myself.
ANOTHER well made and SOLID pistol produced by the Turks. I put 200 rounds through it and found it to be accurate. Recoil is minimal and the trigger in my opinion is phenomenol. Take up is minimal to a solid wall and pull is soft and quick. Reset is audible and average. I definitely dig the pistol and know you will as well. ESPECIALLY at $200 total.
I've got an XD9 and love it. The BRG9 is superior in every way. Start with a nice plastic case with two mags, a loader, and a cleaning kit versus a standard cardboard box. Well machined from stronger steel with super finishes. Features cocked and loaded chamber indicators. Very easy slide release lever. Trigger under 5 lbs on mine. At this price, this is a no-brainer. If you are reluctant to try a Turkish made handgun, don't be. A number of manufacturers are making computer machined products to NATO standard. Their guns rock!
This is a great gun! I am very pleased with my purchase, Very easy purchasing process. Fast shipping. Shot it for the first time yesterday. I put about 50 rounds thru it. No issues at all. I love the trigger. Recoil is easily manageable. Very good build - the accessories are a nice touch! I would purchase this gun again.
I picked up the pistol today after waiting sometime for delivery. I immediately took it to the range and fired 50 rounds. It went well no mishaps and no jams. This was without any preparations prior to shooting. I was not concerned about grouping just wanted to see how it would fire and it did that pretty well including rapid fire. And with the Sportsman outdoor selling price at under 2Bills, this was the best deal I made in 2022
Let's face it, it's a Turkish clone of an XD, but for a fraction of the price and with better features. The Gun is solid, well-made, reliable, and as accurate as I am. You will not find a better bang for your buck than this! Don't forget that it comes with a lifetime warranty.
